Background:
David Roos lives and works in East London, was born in Queenstown on 29 May 1982, and is the only member of Team Icexpress (so far) to represent the Eastern Cape.
An arm amputee who lost his right arm, (below the elbow), at birth due to ‘Congenital Bands’, he obviously loves being active and pushing his physical limits.
When asked about what it is that inspires him, both as a person and an athlete, he replies; “My passion for the sport! I love what I do!!!”
David’s best recorded time in the T46sprint is 11.15 seconds

Recent Results:
At the Paralympic World Cup that took place in Manchester (May 2009), David got Bronze for the F46 High Jump. He also took Gold in the T46sprint at IWAS, Duisberg, in June 2009.
At the 2010 Nedbank National Championships, David took the Gold medal in each of his events making World Qualifying B distances in the Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Personal Aspirations:
“First I wish to achieve ‘A’ qualifying standards for the 100m and Long Jump events at the 2010 SA Championships, and secondly; to qualify for the Common Wealth Games. My goal for 2010 in general, is to achieve new personal bests without injury, as well as to medal at the Common Wealth Games”.
