Background:

A born 'Pretorianer', Fred works as a Plumber while also working to ensure his place at the 2012 Paralympic Games.

After losing the use of his right leg in a work accident in August 2006, Fred's amputation only occurred three years later in August of 2009. It was at this time that Fred got acquainted with Icexpress.

Born on 6 May 1981, Fred's first attempt at competitive Paralympic sport was for the Provincial Qualifiers event at Pilditch in September 2009 - Only about a month after the amputation.

Recent Results:

At a recently held Warm-up to Nationals event at Pilditch (February 2009), Fred achieved his 'personal best' distances in both his events:
F42 Javelin: 22.5m &
F42 Shot Put: 8.7m.

Personal Aspirations:

"I am aiming for 32 meters in the F42 javelin event, and 10 meters in the Shot Put event at SA's 2010. My goal is to keep working and to keep improving. It inspires me know I am working for a shot at the 2012 Paralympics."
